Advanced Sculpture: Handbuilding On Your Own

The student has mastered the handbuilding techniques of their choice and has a desire to create projects on their own. Students can decide to do Option 1 or 2 or both. Both can be taught in the same class. Students can pick up their finished and glazed projects on what would be class 7 day.

Option 1
Using techniques learned in the Fundamentals of Handbuilding class to make a group or series of small to medium sculptures which we will fire and glaze.

Option 2
Using techniques learned in the Fundamentlals of Handbuilding class to make large scale pots.

Class 1: Sketching, making small models, making a decision and prep work.
Class 2-5: Work days (pieces will be bisque fired).
Class 6: Glazing

*This class can be taken again if the student only wants to tackle one option at a time.

Class fee includes all clay, glazes, and firing used in class. A basic kit of pottery tools is required and is available for purchase at the studio. Students may want to bring an apron or wear old clothes. All supplies are included in cost and students have use of the studio’s equipment during the course.
Missed classes can be made-up within the six-week session but cannot be credited toward the next session.
A $100.00 non-refundable deposit required at time of registration. The balance will be payable when the class begins.
